CHOCOLATE TOUR
TRADITIONAL INDIGENOUS CHOCOLATE & MEDICINE PREPARATIONS

A certified guide will take you on this intriguing journey to visit a local Bri-Bri family. You'll learn about the plants used for indigenous medicines and participate in traditional chocolate preparation.

Start the tour by meeting your guide at our shop. From there it's a 20-minute drive to the Bri-Bri reserve. You'll meet the family in their traditional house who'll demonstrate how they create tools from various natural materials available within the jungle. Embark on a short tour around the land learning about medicinal plants and walking through the frog nursery.
Continue to the traditional chocolate-making demonstration which includes an explanation of the whole bean-to-bar process, and the opportunity to roll your sleeves up and get involved. Finish the visit by tasting your end product!
Then we head to one of our favorite nearby waterfalls. Enjoy some refreshing coconut water before a short 15-minute hike. Take some pics, take a dip, or simply relax! Transportation will collect and return you to Cahuita.
